Yemen Executive Mine Action Centre |
|
The Yemen Executive Mine Action Centre (YEMAC), under the National Mine Action Committee (NMAC), is the coordination and implementation body that executes a full range of mine action projects. Mine clearance in Yemen is undertaken by the Engineering Department of the Ministry of Defense with staff seconded to YEMAC. YEMAC has adopted a cluster clearance approach to deal with impacted areas, focusing not only on high-impact communities, but also on medium- and low-impact communities clustered close to each other. This has allowed for a greater reduction of risk among communities from the same cluster, but with different levels of impact. |
